Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you use Glasscontain, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and password (hashed)
• Captured conversations: AI conversation text you save via the Chrome extension or by pasting manually
• Usage data: which features you use, capture counts, session timestamps — no content
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

2. How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

• Power your personal search across your captured conversations
• Generate AI responses when you chat with your knowledge base
• Improve Glasscontain's features and performance (aggregate, anonymized usage patterns only)
• Send you product updates and transactional emails (you can opt out of marketing at any time)

We will never use the content of your captured conversations to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

3. How we store and protect your data

Your captured conversations are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. Access controls ensure only you (and team members you explicitly authorize) can access your captures.

We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure. We are working towards SOC 2 Type II certification.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your captured conversations with third parties. The only exceptions are:

• AI providers: when you use the "chat with your brain" feature, your query and relevant captures are sent to the AI model you've selected (Claude, GPT-4, or Gemini). This is subject to their respective privacy policies.
• Infrastructure providers: our hosting and database providers process your data under strict data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, with appropriate legal process.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Export all your captures at any time in JSON or Markdown format
• Delete individual captures or your entire account and all associated data
• Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and theme preferences (stored in localStorage). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

7. Children's privacy

Glasscontain is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@glasscontain.com.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email and update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
